Still bad.

You should REALLY improve on your graphics and audio. The whole almost-a-stickfigure/bland voiceacting thing isn't working. Characters shouldn't be 40% eyeball. It's ugly, it's impractical, it makes everyone look the same, and above all else it proves that you can't draw. Based on these designs everyone would be BLIND by age 10 due to repeated casual bumps, scratches, and bruises to their optical sensors.

You misspelled a bunch of things and the movie fell off-sync sometime near the end. The battles were like DBZ--mostly blurs and very little choreography. The story is highly unoriginal and has nothing behind it but video game character inserts and a longterm reference to an old TV show that was 'cool' at the time (doesn't take much to impress a kid) yet is actually terrible and irritating. While you clearly put a little more effort into this episode than your other similar pieces of ©-raping garbage (yeah, those blur effects actually do take a little bit of external work) it still doesn't work.

Therefore, in addition to bad graphics and sound, you have bad/stolen ideas. Remind me again what this has to offer. Do you actually WATCH these movies when you're done? Who's in charge of beta testing and quality control?

It seems shallow to be offended by the lack of actual swears and curses, but you might want to come up with better insults than 'snailbait'. It just makes the movie that much more incredibly lame.

MetalMaverick responds:

Oh boo friggin' hoo! If you hate what I'm doing so much than just turn it off and go do your own little projects. Instead of whining about how much you hate something.

I'm simply doing what I like. Sure, the quality isn't the best, but it gets the point across. The simple fact of the matter is that I'm just one person. If I had a team of artists, it'd be different. I'm just doing what I can with what little free time I have. Being an artist yourself, you'd think you would already understand that. Appearantly for you boy, that's not the case.

Shame on all of you.

...This is just a bunch of kids cursing profusely whilst trying to disgrace a cartoon with their horrible voiceacting. You'd have to be 12 to find this funny.

Horrible

Traced graphics, unstreamed audio, poor animation, a lack of interesting stuff happening, and finally, lame EXP jokes that have been done a million times before. This was really really lame--I recommend against finishing it.

Err.

More Foamy movies. Y'know, in this one especially, it's too hard to understand what they're saying because they're talking so freakin' fast. I missed about 45% of the dialogue.

The animation's limited, as usual. All that I can say is that, on a technical aspect, it's pretty easy to make these movies, especially when all that usually happens in them is a lot of talking... which is made easier by the fact that there's little to no need for lip-syncing.

Ever consider making an episode that has some sort of action? It would make these things more interesting. We can only see a voice-pitch-altered squirrel bob in and out of frame so many times.

Anyway, you've got the talent--just try expanding on it.

This isn't all that great... but...

I'm looking through the reviews, and I'm not quite sure why so many people think that this is outright amazing. I mean... all you gotta do to make something like this is just import some audio and then throw in a bunch of game sprites taken off of some website. It's relatively easy to do--the author doesn't even have to draw anything--just let the sprites loop and change their position every few beats or so--writing in some text every now and then. This is pretty much like watching that really old Peanuts Christmas Special--y'know, the one where they're all doing stupid the same dance moves for about 5 minutes and boring the viewers at home.

It's hard to rate these kinds of things. I guess the quality of sprite ripping's pretty good, and you kept in all of the frames in the animated background as well. The overall presentation's decent, and you get bonus points for compressing the audio. It's classifiable as "another freakin' sprite movie made for the sake of using sprites to appeal to the fanbase from whence they originated", but it isn't complete garbage since you didn't make any serious errors. It's decent.

Ehh.

Your graphics are pretty nicely done, albeit way too exanimate and static. It's mostly just a flat image being tweened--there's like... 2 drawings of the girl, a few boxy backgrounds, and... and... that's it. It's too short for me to give it anymore than a 2, but I look forward to whatever happens next. Put more in it--this really isn't gonna draw any attention at all.

Samus-Aran responds:

Thanks for the review. It's an honor to get a review from a NG bigwig (imo). I know there's not a lot to it, but that was 2 years ago and with zero animation experience, and like I said, lack of inspiration. I want to see if people were interested to see it completed. Preferrably, I would like to see if people would want my story as an animation, or as a webcomic. I can draw way better than I can animate, but I will pursue animation when I have more time to contribute to it. More likely to happen if I can get more free time. I will definitely redo the entire thing when I can, 100%.

Ew

That was very bad. The character work was either traced or stolen. The animation was outright bad. Most of it was about some poorly-drawn energy wave creeping towards its target at a snail's pace, or a bunch of white circles (which is supposed to be smoke) floating away. The humor is pretty much non-existent--and it took too long for the joke to go through. This is clearly a half-assed flash. Better luck next time.

Not that impressive.

I didn't really enjoy this movie. It was kinda choppy, and it's just like every single other Megaman sprite flash on newgrounds--short, incomplete, and with brief instances of not-very-believable-sprite-based-combat.

On a technical aspect, I would suggest sticking to one platform. Alternating between NES/SNES/Playstation doesn't entirely work as well as you may have intended, and it kinda makes thins look a little choppy. Better luck next time.

Argh

Another movie about meaningless excessive violence that has no plot and no meaning. There are thousands of these and none of them are good. It's actually a step BELOW stick figures--instead of sticks you did circles that aren't even connected to one another.

The weapons are obvious copies or tracings of several other weapons I've seen before and do not match up with the quality of the characters in the least. Finally, the FPS was way too slow. I suggest something along the lines of 24 or even 30.

It gets blammed. Make something interesting next time.

Ugh

More horrible sprite movies.

That badly looped sound track in the tavern was painful to hear. Please don't ever do that again.

Cloud's sprites had strange outlines. You could've fixed that before submitting the movie.

The only thing I can give you points on is being perhaps 5% original for creating some graphics in the movie, despite most of them were pretty bad.

8-Deadclaw0-8 responds:

well, my, my, my, everyones a critic.... well Mr. DL-Misteroo, it seems u hate sprite movies... then why did u watch mine? 80% of final fantasy movies are sprite movies?? u would think that FF stood for Final Fantasy, not Foo Fighters, or Fat Fuckers, or maybe u thought it was Fisting Females?? any whoo, i figure u got ur own opinion, keep up the reviews thou, im SURE that people will stop making sprite movies cuz u tell them to... phnny guy....

If you are reading this, I am already dead. Maybe. Probably.
